Dr. McKinney earned degrees from the University of Oklahoma, in mechanical engineering with distinction in 1974, and a doctorate of medicine in 1978. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology in the United States Air Force, while serving commitments for his academic sch
Dr. McKinney earned degrees from the University of Oklahoma, in mechanical engineering with distinction in 1974, and a doctorate of medicine in 1978. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology in the United States Air Force, while serving commitments for his academic scholarship to medical school.
He is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and medical acupuncture. After his military service, he was an assistant professor of gastroenterology at the University of Texas. He began a solo practice in gastroenterology in 1986 in Texas, and moved his practice to Arizona in 1997. He retired from full-time practice, and began outpatient gastroenterology on a part-time basis with Humanity Health Care in 2014, and plans to practicing for the foreseeable future.
He enjoys playing acoustic guitar, lapidary, hiking, and swimming. He is married to Nancy Ruby, a distinguished artist of abstract oil painting.

Throughout her career Dr. Richards has always placed her focus on her patients first and she has never wavered in her concern for “the whole patient”. Dr. Richards graduated with honor from Michigan State University and completed her internal medicine residency and her GI fellowship at Botsford General
Hospital. She has deep connections to her community medically and personally and remains a proud board member of the Jerome Humane Society.
